Kyle's 1st Pinewood Derby 1-08

Kyle had his first Pinewood Derby this past week. He was excited about it for sure. He & his grandpa worked very hard on his car. His Jursassic Park bright yellow Dinosaur Transporter to be exact. Complete with a dino strapped to the back. The problem was that my dad didn't realize that at the end of the track they have this thing they have to go under to actually make it to the the finish line. So the dino prior to race time had to be slightly modified. Let's just say that grandpa had to give him a back spikes hair cut & a nose job. All in all they made it through. Kyle took 2nd in too races, and third a few times. He also took first twice, he was so proud. Next year he will be more into it as far as knowing that you have to take a little more time in placing your car on the track. He also got to help with the flag & the color gaurd for the first time. He was excited about that part too. Now we will have to wait until next year to see what kind of car he comes up with. He did win the award for most creative car. COOL! Many thanks to grandpa for helping Kyle with his car. We all know that if it were left up to Kevin the car would end up being the same shape it came in but maybe with the addition of some colored markers or some stickers perhaps. So thank you again grandpa!! What would we do without are awesome Grandpa!
