KYLE'S LAST PINEWOOD DERBY 1-10

Yes that is true, Kyle's LAST PINEWOOD DERBY!! I am not sad, & Kyle isn't either. This wasn't ever really his thing. He participated, but that was kind of it. Of course if it weren't for his awesome Grandpa he would end up with a square piece of wood with wheels attached, seriously. This year we were smart & thought ahead. We brought Kyle's car kit with us when we went to Idaho for Christmas. So Kyle & Grandpa got a jump on cutting out the shape & some sanding. Then we brought the car home & finished sanding & got it painted & looking all cool & sharp. As it turned out Grandpa & Grandma ended up being here in Cali for the pinewood derby, perfect! Here are some pictures of the evening. Don't let Kyle's pure excitement scare you now... This is the look of a kid who is just SUPER EXCITED ABOUT PINEWOOD DERBY!

There they go Neck in neck to the finish line. Kyle's is the black car. Oh there's some excitement... he was playing his D.S. apparently something good must have happened. These are the awards: Kyle's car won "Most Streamlined" Here he is for the last time with his sweet car & his award.

Kyle won 4th place over all... not too shabby Kyle.

So I guess the next time we'll be involved with the Pinewood Derby it will be watching our grandsons race... Cool... of course this will be a LONG LONG LONG ways down the road... it better be!!!
