YOUNG WOMEN MYSTERY TRIP 6-09 SUPER FABULOUS!

So this weekend our Young Women headed out for a very fun filled, spiritually uplifting, adventurous Mystery Trip. We told the girls nothing about what we would be doing, only what to bring on this Mystery Trip. We started out at Sis. March's for a quick breakfast & devotional by Sis. Capson.

Then we headed off to destination #1: We walked the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a little chilly that day & there was as usual some fog. But it was really cool to be up there on the bridge. We got some great shots. I even asked a cyclist if he would take a group photo, he was kind enough to do so. Sis. Rossi made the girls a passport & each destination had a stamp to go with it. We will be making a scrapbook page of our Mystery Trip with photos & our passports.

Next we left the bridge & headed off to destination #2: The Point Bonita Lighthouse. The tour guides were so kind to come in on a day that the tour was normally closed & led our group. It was so worth it! THANK YOU!!

These are some sea lions taking advantage of some very small real estate. We are getting some very interesting information about the lighthouse. This tunnel is the only way to get to the lighthouse. Pretty cool huh? It was handmade by the people there way back in the early 1900's.

Again some more of the cute sea lions. We wished part of our tour was getting a little closer to these guys... it wasn't. Checking out how steep the cliffs are, pretty scary. We were getting some instructions on how to cross the tension bridge, two people at a time. A tiny bit scary, it was a loooong way down. Some cool plant life on the cliff.

As members of the gospel of Jesus Christ we are "The Keepers of the Light" the light of Christ. It was a big part of why we came to the lighthouse. Our awesome YW, such great examples of the" Keepers of the Light" This is Emily & Amanda doing their "Titanic" photo.

Emily on her way back over the bridge. Point Bonita Lighthouse. We stopped to have lunch near the ocean, & a devotional by Sis. Berrett. Then it was on to our 3rd Mystery Destination: A very awesome Ropes Course in Napa. This place was very,very cool. The two men that ran the course were just incredible. They even came in on a day the course was normally closed & gave as a really good deal to boot. Such great guys you are Dave & Ron, THANKS for being so COOL!!! The course was made up of many different team building exercises. It was so challenging & so much fun to do the activities.

Ok so this was the zipline. You see that giant pole in the background. Well before you got to go flying down the zipline you had to first climb this super tall pole. Not an easy task at all, & also completely frightening. BUT... everyone did it, we were all successful. It was SUPER AWESOME!!! This is me, screaming the whole way down!!! :) Of course screams of excitement yes they were... :)

Ok so this one was called The Pamper Jump. You can see why, you climb this pole, and have nothing to hold on to when you get to the top. Then you stand up & jump out to the swing. CRAZY!! It's called the Pamper Jump bc it is so scary it makes you wish you wearing a diaper. We called it the Leap of Faith, it really was.

You did it Amanda!!! These are the girls with our AWESOME guides Dave & Ron!!! All of us, very tired but very happy & proud to have been able take such Leaps of Faith!!! On to destination #4: We stayed at Sister Hoskings house in Napa. She is the mother of one of our families in the other ward. She was such a great hostess & such an amazing woman. Thank you Sister Hoskings for your sweet spirit & very kind hospitality. She even found a wonderful Brother in her ward to host us swimming that night. He had an incredible home with a even more incredible back yard. The girls were calling it a Fiarytale house. We had pizza & soda for dinner, yummy. The pool was warm & the night was beautiful. What a great way to end our wonderful day.

That night before bed we had a great devotional by Sis. March our YW President. She did such a great job planning our trip.

The next morning we had a yummy breakfast & cleaned up Sis. Hoskings house. We had a quick devotional by me, Sis. Gatchell. Part of which was a challenge to write in a Book of Mormon & share it with someone that day. We then got in the car & headed off to our next stop.

Destination #5: We met the rest of the stake youth in Davis to cheer at the Special Olympics. The day was SUPER hot, in the 100's. But our youth, they are amazing. They cheered & sang & smiled & really brought a wonderful spirit to the stands.

Here is one of the atheletes who asked if he could take his picture with our girls. He said it was so cool that we were there to cheer for them. Some of cheers included many good old girls camp songs.

After the Olympics we gathered back at the Davis Institute for a devotional by Sis. Goodwin. Then we headed off to lunch at where else... In & Out!!! Then it was time for our final destination, our trip home... via the train. I was proud to say that one of the Book of Mormons given away was given by Amanda & Emily. They gave their book to a family on the train. Good job girls, way to share your spirits!!!Arrival Martinez Train Station.

Before we left the station we had our last devotional by Sis. Bowerbank. What a great way to end a FANTASTIC TRIP!! This was such a wonderful Mystery Trip. Made even more wonderful by our Young Women. They are truly such a blessing, such strong spirits filled with the goodness of the Light of Christ. It was a pleasure to spend time with them, to serve them, & to be inspired by them. Until next time Young Women!!! YOU ROCK!!!!
